Many members of our club willingly give up their time and resources to help support the club on a voluntary basis, so we’re pleased to announce that the Executive Committee has agreed to introduce a recognition scheme to formally record and reward the efforts of our volunteers! The Committee has agreed to introduce a quarterly scheme continuing through the years on a quarterly basis, with a new Volunteer of the Quarter announced at the end of March, June, September and December. Each Volunteer of the Quarter will be rewarded with a £50 voucher, as a thank you for their contribution to the club. Our first ever Volunteer of the Quarter is Mark Hamann, in recognition of his hard work in organising the club’s fireworks night last November, as well as being our Wimbledon Ballot Administrator. Well done Mark! Nominations for the scheme should be sent to Penny Simmonds, Club Secretary, for discussion and agreement at an Executive Committee meeting. Penny can be contacted on email@example.com.

We look forward to meeting you all soon and serving you our delicious and creative menu!”We look forward to welcoming Claudine and Colette soon and hope that you’ll all support our new cafe and bar service at every opportunity!
Blue Hill Cafe & Bar menu Blue Hill will be providing a broader service than previously available, including longer opening hours (weekdays, all day Saturdays, and Sunday mornings 10am – 2pm), and they’ll be investing in a new coffee machine 🙂
Last night’s Club Got Talent event was a great success with some virtuoso musical performances and over £650 raised for the club’s development fund. A big thanks to all the musicians who took part, including soloists Brandon on keyboard and James on violin, the Somogyi duet on keyboard and saxophone, Bev Turner’s ‘Poole Ukelele Band’, and the rock supergroup ‘Hard Court Rockers’. And thanks to David Lloyd for organising! Here’s a selection of photos from the night, and check back soon for links to some video footage!
Volunteering’s big news in 2016 so if you’d like to Do Something Great, there’s plenty of scope at our club! We’re always looking for volunteers to do things to help keep the club running, be that maintaining the clubhouse or helping organise fundraising events. So if you’ve got any skills (e.g. a good organiser or electricians, plumbers, DIY enthusiasts), get in touch! It would be good to do a bit of Spring cleaning too in the clubhouse, and maybe add a new coat of paint – and many hands make light work! Looking for inspiration? Check out the BBC’s Do Something Great website to see what other kinds of volunteering people will be up to this summer.
If you’d like to get involved with jobs around the club or have any ideas of your own, please contact Penny Simmonds – thank you!
Join us for our weekly Quiz Night every Tuesday @ 8.30 pm. The cost is £2 per person, doctor with prizes for the winners.
