Club Day
We have several club day sessions during the week, when all members (except Improvers) can just turn up and play. These sessions are held on:
Monday evening 6.30 pm onwards (supervised session)
Tuesday 1pm – 4pm
Wednesday evening 5.30pm onwards
Thursday 1pm – 4pm
Saturday 1.30pm – 6pm
See Court Allocation for details
Fours are arranged using a rota-board system, which ensures a fair and equal method for all members. The rota-board system must be used at every club day session. Fixed fours are not permitted at club day sessions and singles play is only permitted if no other members are waiting to play. One Astro court is left for free play at every club session.
Club day floodlights during the winter are provided from 5.30 pm -8.00 pm on Wednesdays and from 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm on Saturdays. (Tokens available from the coaches or the bar). If you require tokens for play at other times there is a dispenser in the clubhouse.
Members in the Improver category of membership have a dedicated court allocation as follows:
Wednesday 3 courts, 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm
Thursday 2 courts, 5.30 pm -10pm (except when required for match play)
Saturday 3 hard courts, 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm
Improvers pay a reduced subscription and do not participate in senior club day. An Improver has a rating of 10.1 or 10.2. Members, who wish to graduate to full membership, and participate in club day sessions, can request a playing test with one of the full time coaches at the club, who will assess their ability.
Junior club night is held on Friday evenings from 5.30pm, with coaching and organised sessions for younger members (up to 7 years of age). Juniors have priority on all Astro courts from 5pm.
