Join us for a fun American Doubles tournament at 3pm on Sunday 27th August! Adults and yellow ball juniors welcome to take part, I’ll sort out initial pairings on the day. Entry £5, with prizes for the winners… hope to see you there!
The club was proud to host an LTA Grade 3 tourament at the start of August, the Frost & Co Dorset Open 2017, and apart from one day of rain on the Wednesday the event ran smoothly and we saw some high quality tennis!
Thanks to all the players who took part, adults and juniors, and we hope you all enjoyed the experience! Congratulations to our winners and runners-up, including East Dorset’s Louis Allen who won the Boys 18U Singles event, and we hope to see you all again next year!
Following the recent purchase of an indoor table tennis table, we’re pleased to announce that club evenings will start from Thursday 20th July from 6pm til the bar closes in the function room.
You’re welcome to turn up and play free for one club session, but you’ll then need to sign up as a Table Tennis member (£24 for existing Tennis or Croquet members, and £36 for Bridge / Non Playing / New members).
You’ll be able to play at other times too when the function room is free, e.g. if it’s a wet Saturday club afternoon – you’ll just need to assemble the table and then put it away in the store cupboard afterwards.
If you’re keen to improve your game, Steve Moreman will be running table tennis coaching sessions too.
Entries are now open for the Frost & Co Dorset Open 2017, which takes place at the club from Sunday 6th to Saturday 12th August.
The tournament includes Junior events (8U – 18U) and Adult events (including Men’s Over 45 and Ladies Over 40) singles and doubles.
You can enter via the LTA website:
or by filling in an application form and sending it to the club:

Well played everyone in today’s Club Championships Finals, it was a great day’s tennis and there was a real buzz about the club
Thanks to Sue Hobden and Ros Topple for organising (and managing to play their matches as well), and thanks to the rain for staying away til the presentation ceremonies!
We had lots of fun in the sun yesterday afternoon at Max Tennis School’s Adult & Junior Tournament, so a big thank you to everyone who took part and made it a success!
There were lots of long rallies and close matches so it’s a shame there have to be winners and losers… but congratulations go to Ethan & Roger (winners) and Ollie & Andy (runners up) in the Green ball event, and to Daisy & Roger (winners) and Harry & Sue (runners up) in the Orange ball event.

It was a great afternoon, and we hope to see you all at our next ‘Summertime Slam’ event, details to be announced shortly!
