Competitors and
their families are asked to note that there is a strict Club rule that dogs are
not to be bought into the Club’s grounds and that the only permitted food
outlet will be provided by the Club.
CONDITIONS
1.
The tournament is sanctioned by the LTA and
will be run in strict accordance with the ITF Rules of Tennis, the Rules and Regulations of
the LTA including the LTA code of conduct. All competitors in the singles
events (except the 10/u events) must provide a valid membership number of the
LTA Registered Membership Scheme. This is a grade 3 Tournament.
2.
The Committee reserves the right to refuse
any entry without giving reasons, to restrict the number of entries in any
event and to modify the programme in any way it might see fit, subject to the
rules of the LTA. Any event for which the Committee considers insufficient
entries have been received may be cancelled.
3.
Competitors may enter up to two Singles, one
Doubles and one Mixed Doubles event. The closing date for entries will be first
post on Thursday 17th July 2008. Entries received after that date
will be placed on a reserve list. Competitors must be prepared to play up to
three singles matches a day.
4.
Grass, artificial grass and hard courts will
be available at the

Competitors must personally sign the
attendance sheet immediately upon arrival each day. Players not available to
play when called are likely to be defaulted from the event. Competitors must
not leave the ground before the end of play without the Referee’s consent. The
order of play will be published on the web at 2100 daily.
6.
Up to the quarter finals all events are the
best of 3 sets, with a third set being a match tie break, and in all other sets
the tie break will operate; at 4 all in the 10/U and 6 all in all other events.
Subject to weather matches from quarter finals will be the best of three tie
break sets.
7.
ITF Approved Tennis Balls will be used.
8.
Only acceptable Tennis clothing which
complies with the current LTA Regulations and rubber-soled tennis shoes without
heels, ribs or studs may be worn on court, this includes practise. Competitors
could be defaulted for failing to comply.
9.
Gambling on the premises is strictly
prohibited and any competitor found gambling will be disqualified.
10. There
will be a stringer on site and the Referee will have details of local Doctors
and Physiotherapists.
11. Practise
courts are available on Sunday 3rd August, but must be booked
through the Club.
12. No
complaint in connection with the Tournament can be entertained by the Committee
unless made in writing and lodged with the Committee within 48 hours of the
occurrence of the cause of the complaint. No application for leave to appeal
against any decision of the Committee can be entertained by the LTA unless made
in writing and lodged with the Secretary of the LTA within 10 days after the
receipt of the Committee’s decision.
