TENNIS SECTION GREEN-FEES

Members may introduce friends to play tennis at the Club at any time unless special or regular events have priority on all of the playable courts.  Members should avoid busy Club-Days, for example.

A Green-Fee is payable for each session – morning, afternoon or evening.  The green-Fee is £5 for adults and £2.50 for juniors.  Access-to-Leisure (ATL) players pay 25% of the appropriate fee, and do not need a member to introduce them as visitors.

Please enter the names of visitors, together with the member’s name (where appropriate) and the date, in the Green-fee Book kept by the telephone in the clubhouse lobby.  Post the appropriate fee, in one of the brown envelopes provided, through the letter-box near the telephone.

Non-members are permitted to play as visitors for up to three sessions in any year (April to March).  ATL players are not subject to this restriction.

Members should ensure that visitors are aware of the benefits of Club membership and provide them with a Membership Pack where appropriate.

If visitors attend Club-Day, members should endeavour to ensure that they are not required to select a four, i.e. visitors’ should be selected before their names reach the bottom of the board.

FLOODLIGHTS

Floodlights for Astroturf courts 1, 2 and 3 may be used free of charge after dusk.  The controls are in the hut close to Court 1.  The left-hand buttons control the lights on Court 1, the centre controls are for Court 2 and the right-hand controls for Court 3.

The green buttons switch the lights on and the red buttons switch them off.

The red lamps on top of the hut light up when the floodlights are on.  The left-hand lamp applies to Court 1, the centre lamp to Court 2 and the right-hand lamp to Court 3.

The lamps will each extinguish about five minutes before the (approximately) 45 minute session is due to end.  This provides a warning that the green button must be re-pressed to ensure that the floodlights remain on for another session.

If the lights go out for any reason, there is about a 10 minute cooling-off period before the lights will re-light.  It is therefore important to press the green button before the (approximately) 5 minute warning has expired.

Floodlights may not be used after 10.30 pm.  Please press the red button for your court when you leave unless other players are likely to use your court.

The floodlights are provided free of charge but consume electricity at a cost to the Club.  Please try to ensure that they are not used unless the courts are occupied.  Press the red button(s) when you leave the courts if no others want to play.
