Tennis Court Priorities
General
- There are
no priorities for daytime play apart from those defined below. Singles and juniors have equal rights on
all courts until 5pm. Adult and
fours may not claim precedence except as defined below.
- Representative
matches, e.g. inter-club matches, have priority over all other forms of
play. Courts hired out for a fee,
e.g. for LTA matches are included in this category.
- All
coaching is on the hard courts except when sanctioned by the Tennis
Committee.
- All
members have access to any court not pre-allocated as described
below. The Tennis Committee
publishes Court Allocation Tables as necessary.
- Grass
courts may not be used before 10.30am and after dusk, or as instructed by
groundsman.
Day-time (up
to 5pm)
- Adult
Club-Day play has precedence on all Astroturf and Hard courts (and on
grass courts when available) from 1.30pm to 6pm on Saturday
afternoons. Match standard players
have precedence on courts 1 and 2 from 4pm onwards. Coaching has precedence on up to 2 hard
courts from 4pm onwards.
- On Tuesday
and Thursday afternoons, between 1.30 and 4pm, Club-Day play has
precedence on up to five Astroturf courts.
One Astroturf court available for general play
Evenings (5pm
onwards)
- Priorities
for evening tennis are as follows:

Adults have priority over Juniors on
Astroturf courts.

Doubles have priority over Singles if
all available courts are occupied.
·
Club Tournament matches as allocated
by the Tennis Committee
·
Play on booked or allocated courts
(e.g. Match Practice).
·
Adult Club-Day play on Monday and Wednesday
evenings.
- On Friday
evenings, Junior Club-Day play has precedence over other club members’
usage.
